I have had the honor of photographing this growing family since Stephanie and Jeff were expecting with the twins. I feel so grateful that throughout the years, they still choose me to capture their lives multiples times each year. One of the things I love about this crew is that what you see is what you get. They really are as easy-going, joyful, and beautiful as they look in the images.
One of the perks to working with a family so much is that they trust my wild and crazy ideas, and embraced hiking in the woods in the hot summer sun before sunset. A 15 minute hike is not tough for adults, but I wondered how James and Addison would do, but staying true to the Gardner fashion, they were good sports!
Along the way, we found an open field to make sure we captured mom’s belly.
Getting to see Addison and James’ personalities come out during the shoot brings me so much joy. I love observing these little ones through the lens. Addie was eager to hop right into the creek, where as James needed to observe, and walk slowly in.
There are times when I’m looking through the lens, and on the inside I am freaking out. This was one of those times. I was so captivated by these to exploring the creek in the magical lighting.
If you haven’t played in a creek lately with your clan, I highly recommend it. Giggles are surely guaranteed.
