Sessions like this is why I insist we do the photoshoot during the golden hour.  Those hazy, golden rays capture the tenderness in a way that harsh afternoon lighting just can’t.  I used to call myself a posey-posey photographer, and sure, I do still offer some direction and suggestions to the family, to make sure the lighting is falling nicely on everyone, and that I’m shooting from a flattering angle.  But now I just love documenting that authentic, candid interaction between parents and their babes.

Mom and Dad had to come to the session at different times due to their work schedule, but it worked out so well as I was able to capture this little guy with his daddy first.  And then I got to document the way his face lights up when he sees his mom at the end of the day!
